Annadata is a citizen-driven, expert-led voluntary organisation working to create awareness about safe food and to build bridges across natural/organic farmer communities and urban consumers. At Annadata, we foster the concept of a "family-farmer"​ on the lines of a family-doctor. Consumers are encouraged to visit farms and establish one-to-one relations with farmers which builds confidence and a sustained year-round relationship between them. Apart from local Organic Food Festivals, volunteers use word-of-mouth, social-media, website blogs and direct institutional demonstrations to reach out to the masses. Annadata is the much respected vendor-neutral link between the farm and the fork and aspires to play a bigger role as a recognised watchdog in an area plagued by the hazards of extreme chemical farming. It draws its volunteer base from across a host of supporting organisations like Vasundhara Swachchhata Abhiyaan, Vanarai, and Oorjacity Pune. Annadata's farm-experts team physically undertakes inspection rounds before farmers are empaneled. A robust supply-chain is also constantly being built to provide sustained marketing to farmers. We aim to facilitate sustainable livelihoods through our activity - in farms , and beyond. We promote and support rural/sub-urban food-processing cottage-industry such as cold-press edible oil-extraction, organic honey-beehives, grain-sorting, dairies with free-grazing native Indian cows and such.
